FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know before walking into a freestanding ER for the first time. Filter by category below or search for a specific topic.

Are you open 24/7?

Yes — we're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No appointment is ever needed and our doors don't close, ever, including holidays.

How long will I have to wait?

Our average door-to-physician time is under 10 minutes. Chest pain, possible stroke, and pediatric emergencies are triaged and seen immediately upon arrival.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Always. You can also use our online check-in to reserve your spot in advance and reduce your time in the waiting room to essentially zero.

What conditions do you treat?

All emergency medical conditions for both adults and children — chest pain, shortness of breath, broken bones, severe pain, allergic reactions, high fevers, infections, lacerations, abdominal pain, and more. We also handle minor emergencies that might wait too long at a hospital ER.

Do you take pediatric patients?

Yes. Our ER physicians are board-certified in pediatric emergency medicine and we routinely treat infants, children and teens. Our facility has child-sized equipment and pediatric-friendly protocols.

What insurance do you accept?

All major commercial plans including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Anthem, and First Health. We also accept Medicare, Tricare, and select Medicaid plans. Self-pay options are available with transparent up-front pricing.

How is a freestanding ER different from a hospital ER?

Freestanding ERs offer the same emergency capabilities as a hospital ER — board-certified ER physicians, CT scanner, ultrasound, X-ray, full labs, IV medications, observation — but without the long hospital ER waits and the chaos of a hospital lobby. We're built around speed, comfort, and clarity.

How is this different from urgent care?

Urgent care handles minor same-day issues like sore throats, simple sprains, and rashes. An ER handles true emergencies that need imaging (CT, ultrasound, X-ray), IV medications, complex laboratory work, longer observation, or potential hospital admission. If you're not sure which to choose — choose ER. We can always send you home if it's minor.

Will I be admitted to the hospital if needed?

If admission is needed, we coordinate a direct transfer to one of our partner hospitals via established protocols. You won't have to repeat tests or restart paperwork — your records and imaging travel with you.

Can I drive myself?

If symptoms are mild and stable, yes. For chest pain, possible stroke, severe breathing problems, major trauma, or active bleeding — please call 911. Paramedics can start treatment en route, which can make a critical difference.

Is parking free?

Yes — free parking is available directly outside our entrance. No parking garages, no validation, no fees, ever.

Can family stay with me?

Yes — family is welcome to stay with patients during evaluation and treatment in nearly all situations. Some imaging tests (like CT) briefly require family to step outside the room for radiation safety, but they're with you the rest of the time.

Will I get a copy of my records?

Yes — we provide a complete discharge summary at the end of every visit and can forward records, imaging, and lab results directly to your primary care provider, specialist, or any other facility on your request.

How does billing work?

We bill your insurance directly. After insurance pays its portion, you'll receive a statement for any remaining balance (deductible, copay, or coinsurance). We offer interest-free payment plans and our billing team is available to answer questions any time.

Are your prices transparent?

Yes. We provide up-front pricing for self-pay patients and good-faith estimates upon request. We follow all federal price-transparency requirements and do not engage in surprise billing.
