We accept all major insurance.
ER Of Fort Worth participates with every major commercial insurance plan plus Medicare and Tricare. Federal law requires plans to cover medically necessary emergency care — and the No Surprises Act protects you from surprise bills.
Plans we accept.
We're in-network with the plans North Texas families actually carry. Bring your card — we'll verify your coverage on the spot, no surprise bills, no waiting on hold.
Don't see your plan above? We're constantly adding new networks. Call 817-945-4200 and we'll verify your specific plan in under a minute.
How ER billing actually works.
Under federal law (EMTALA), insurance companies must cover medically necessary emergency room care. We bill your insurance directly. Your only out-of-pocket cost is whatever copay, coinsurance, or deductible your plan requires.
EMTALA protection
Federal law requires your insurer to cover medically necessary emergency care, regardless of which ER you go to.
No Surprises Act
If your plan considers us out-of-network, federal law caps your bill at what you'd pay in-network. No surprise balance bills.
Self-pay friendly
Uninsured? Same-day self-pay discounts mean most visits cost dramatically less than a hospital ER.
Direct billing
We submit your claim directly. You'll see an Explanation of Benefits from your insurer, then a final bill for your portion only.
Transparent self-pay pricing.
If you're uninsured or your visit isn't covered, we offer same-day self-pay rates with significant discounts paid at time of service. We'll quote your full out-the-door cost up front — no surprises, no waiting weeks for a bill, no hidden fees buried in fine print.
Most visits cost dramatically less than a hospital ER. Ask our front desk for the self-pay menu when you arrive.
Answers about coverage & cost.
Will my insurance cover an ER visit?
Yes. Federal law (EMTALA) requires plans to cover medically necessary emergency care. You'll owe only your plan's copay, coinsurance, or deductible — whatever applies under your specific policy.
What if I don't have insurance?
We offer transparent self-pay rates with substantial same-day discounts. Most visits cost dramatically less than a hospital ER. Our front desk can quote your full out-the-door cost before treatment so you know exactly what to expect.
Will I get a surprise bill?
No. The federal No Surprises Act protects you from out-of-network balance billing for emergency care. Even if your plan considers us out-of-network, you'll pay only what you would have paid at an in-network ER.
Do you take Medicare?
Yes, we accept Medicare. We also work with most Medicare Advantage plans. Texas Medicaid coverage varies by plan — please call 817-945-4200 to verify your specific Medicaid plan before your visit.
How will I be billed?
We submit claims directly to your insurance carrier. You'll receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurer first, then a final bill from us reflecting only your out-of-pocket portion. We never balance-bill for emergency services.
Can I verify my coverage before I come in?
Absolutely. Call 817-945-4200 with your insurance card and we'll verify your specific plan in under a minute. You can also use Online Check-In to submit your info ahead of time.
