Is ER Of Fort Worth really open 24 hours?
Yes — every hour of every day, including weekends and holidays. There is always a board-certified ER physician on-site, with full lab, imaging and pharmacy support.
How long will I actually wait to see a doctor?
Our average door-to-doctor time is under ten minutes. For comparison, hospital emergency departments in Tarrant County average roughly 90 minutes. If you use Online Check-In ahead of time, you'll often be brought back almost immediately on arrival.
Do you take my insurance?
We are in-network with all major commercial plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Humana. We also accept Medicare and offer transparent self-pay options. You can verify your coverage on our insurance page or by calling 817-945-4200.
What's the difference between a freestanding ER and urgent care?
A freestanding ER is a true emergency room: same physicians, same equipment, same scope of care as a hospital ER. Urgent care centers are designed for minor issues, are staffed mostly by PAs and NPs, and do not have CT, on-site ultrasound, or board-certified ER physicians. Read our full ER vs urgent care guide.
Do you treat children?
Yes. Our pediatric emergency care includes child-friendly rooms, pediatric-trained physicians, gentler imaging protocols, and specialized equipment for infants and children.
Should I drive in or call 911?
If you suspect a stroke, heart attack, severe trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, or any condition where you might lose consciousness during the drive — call 911. Otherwise, walking in or driving directly to ER Of Fort Worth is usually faster than waiting for transport.
