Frequently asked questions.
How long do blood test results take?
Most basic panels — CBC, metabolic panel, troponin, urinalysis — return in 30–60 minutes from our on-site lab. Blood cultures and specialized tests take longer but are processed without send-out delays.
Do I need a referral for blood work?
No referral is needed for ER-based testing when there is a medical concern. Walk in any time and our physicians will order the appropriate tests based on your symptoms and history.
Will insurance cover ER blood work?
Insurance covers medically necessary lab work performed during an ER visit. We accept all major insurance plans. Lab fees are billed as part of your ER visit — see our insurance page for the full list of accepted plans.
Can I get a drug screen here?
Yes, when medically indicated as part of an emergency evaluation — for example, suspected overdose or altered mental status. We perform urine and serum toxicology screens with same-visit results.
Are results sent to my regular doctor?
We provide a printed and electronic copy of all your results at discharge. We can also fax or send them directly to your primary care provider or specialist upon request.
